Course Syllabus for Mr. Anderson's 6th GradeAncient Civilization, Science, and Math

My name is Mr. Anderson and I am your child's 6th grade Social Studies, Science, and Math teacher. I use standards based lessons to help your child meet the objectives and to move on to the 7th grade.
I need your support to help your dhild to succeed in my classroom. Encourage your child to follow class rules and procedures. Read your child's agenda daily to follow his/her progress, puestion your child about his/her homework and provide a place they can do their homework each night.
MATERIALS--STUDENTS MUST HAVE THIS EVERYDAY:
Binder for handouts and notes--three ring
Blue or black pen, three pencils with erasers, a small pencil sharpener
Small pack of colored pencils
ATTENDANCE: It is very important that your child comes to school every day. He or she is responsible assignments Make-up work and have two days to submit the late homework.
PROGRESS REPORTS: The school sends out progress reports at the end of each grading period (EVERY 6 WEEKS). From time to time I will be sending home interim progress reports
PARENTAL CONTACT/CONFERENCES: If there is aproblem with your child in class, either behavior or grades I will contact you by phone or personal visit to yout home to resolve the problem. If the problem continues, I will invite you to come to school for a conference.
GRADING: Tests, quizzes, homework, and performance goes into one total point bank,
HOMEWORK: There will be homework almost every night for all classes, from time to time there will be nights that your student does not have homework for one class.
ASSESSMENTS: Your student can expect to be assessed twice per week per subject as to a test, quiz or some other form of written assessment.
